Create and optimize Shopify volume discounts with AI Assistant and Sidekick
Setting up a volume discount usually starts with a question many merchants can't answer right away. Is this a quantity break, a Buy X Get Y, a multibuy, wholesale pricing or a subscription discount? Each type has different settings, and picking the wrong one means starting over.
Qikify Volume Discounts Bundle now skips that step. Type the promotion in plain words and the AI Offer Assistant builds it. Then ask Shopify Sidekick how the offer is doing and what to run next.
Two AI features to try here: Qikify's assistant handles the building and Shopify's Sidekick handles the reading of your numbers. Together they make a loop: create an offer in a sentence, check it against real results a few weeks later, and let your sales data shape the next one.

1. AI Assistant: Describe a discount and get a pre-built offer
1.1. What the AI Assistant does
You describe the promotion in your own words, in any language. The assistant does three things with it.
- Detects the offer type: It picks one of the five offer types in the app among Quantity Breaks (same product), Buy X Get Y Free, Volume Discount for Subscription, Multibuy (Mix & Match Combo) and Wholesale Pricing (B2B).
- Finds your products: It matches the products, collections or tags you mention against your real catalog, so the offer points at items that exist in your store.
- Fills in the settings: Tiers, quantities, discount values, gifts and schedule arrive pre-filled. You only need to review them.
You don't have to spell out every detail. If something is missing, the assistant asks.
1.2. How to create an offer with a prompt, step by step
- Describe your offer
When you open the offer creation page, the AI Offer Assistant sits at the top. Type your promotion, or click one of the example prompts to fill it in:
- "Buy any 3 items from collection A for $20"
- "Original price for 1, 10% off for 2 and 20% off for 3"
- "Wholesale tiers: 20+ units 10% off, 50+ units 20% off, 100+ units 30% off"
If you'd rather set things up by hand, pick a template below the prompt bar and go straight to the editor.
2. Let it work
A single status line shows what the assistant is doing: understanding your promotion, detecting the offer type, finding matching products, then setting up pricing.
3. Answer a few quick questions (only if needed)
If your prompt leaves something out, the assistant asks one question at a time, with a step indicator like "2 of 3". It only asks about what's missing:
- which products the offer applies to, or a "Did you mean…" list if a name matches more than one product
- what the free gift is, if you mentioned a gift without naming it
- how many tiers, plus the quantity and discount for each
- the dates, if you named a campaign like Black Friday without a date range
Each question has quick-pick options. Leave one blank and the assistant uses a sensible default, such as "All products" or 10% off. A prompt with everything in it gets zero questions.
Some requests fit two offer types. For example, "10% off for 10 units and 20% off for 25+" could be a retail quantity break or a wholesale price list. The assistant reads the quantity range, how you talk about price and the kind of product you sell. If it still can't decide, it asks one thing: are your buyers individuals or businesses?
4. Check the summary and create or fine-tune it first
After that, you can preview the offer settings in details and click "Create offer" to save it as is or make adjustments.
Nothing goes live until you confirm to save it.
1.3. Limits to know before you start
- 5 uses a day per store: The count resets at midnight UTC, and the assistant shows how many you have left (for example, "Daily usage limit: 3/5").
- Not on development stores: The AI Assistant isn't available on Shopify development stores.
- Exclusions are still manual: For quantity breaks and wholesale offers, the AI can't set product exclusions from a prompt yet, so the summary reminds you to add them by hand.
- Multibuy has its own rules: Multibuy offers can't exclude individual products, and they target one collection at a time.
After you save an AI-created offer, we'll ask how the experience went. If it missed the mark, your feedback goes to our support team along with the prompt you typed, so they can see exactly what went wrong.
2. Sidekick app extension: Let Shopify's AI read your offer results
Building the offer is half the job. Knowing whether it worked, and what to run next, is the other half. That part goes to Shopify Sidekick, the AI assistant built into your Shopify admin.
With the Qikify app extension, Sidekick can answer questions about your volume discounts using your store's real data.
Ask about one offer or all of them, and it compares the last 30 days with the 30 days before: the funnel from views to orders, conversion rate, the extra revenue the offer brought in, and the tier most customers land on. It flags offers that have stalled or get clicks without orders, and tells you when an offer is too new to judge.
Ask "What offer should I run?" and Sidekick reads your last 30 days of orders, then recommends an offer type, the product or collection, and a tier table with a reason for each number. It recommends only what your data supports, and it says so when there isn't enough data to decide.
Then comes the handoff. Click Create this offer in Qikify on a recommendation, or describe a new offer in the chat, and Sidekick passes it to the AI Assistant. The offer builder opens with everything filled in. You review and save.
You don't have to write the prompts yourself. The app dashboard has a "The right offer, in one prompt" card with copy-ready prompts, and each row in your offer list has a Sidekick icon that copies a prompt about that offer.

3. The AI workflow: 4 ways to run offers on prompts and data
Here's how the two features fit together in practice.
3.1. Launch a campaign in a minute, then check it in 30 days
Type something like "Black Friday: 10% off 2 items, 20% off 3, on the Winter collection." The assistant asks for dates only if you left them out. Because it accepts any language, teammates can write the prompt in the language they think in.
Give the offer a few weeks, then ask Sidekick "How's my Black Friday Winter offer doing?" The conversion rate and most popular tier tell you whether the discount steps are working.
3.2. Turn a wholesale price list into an offer, and find the buyers for it
Paste your tiers the way you'd send them to a buyer: "20+ units 10% off, 50+ units 20% off, 100+ units 30% off." If the request could be retail or wholesale, you answer one question about who your buyers are.
Not sure you have wholesale buyers? Ask Sidekick "What offer should I run?" first. It may recommend wholesale pricing because customers tagged "wholesale", "B2B" or "trade" are already buying in bulk at retail prices. Then build the offer from the recommendation.
3.3. Extend an offer that's working
Sidekick's single-offer card lists products customers often buy with your best seller that aren't in the offer yet. Take that list to the AI Offer Assistant: "Buy any 3 items from collection A for $20" sets up a Multibuy around the group. Keep the limit in mind here: one collection per Multibuy offer, and no individual product exclusions.
3.4. Replace a stalled offer instead of patching it
Ask "How are all my offers performing?" and go straight to the flagged rows. An offer with no orders in 14 days or more is a candidate to pause. Rather than editing tiers by hand, describe the replacement in one sentence, such as "Buy 2 candles, get a free matchbox", and let the assistant build the Buy X Get Y Free offer. If you mention a gift without naming it, the assistant asks which product it is.
3.5. Less setup, fewer guesses, better offers
Volume discounts have always had two slow parts: building them and judging them. The AI Assistant takes the first one off your plate. You skip the offer-type decision, the product picking and the tier-by-tier form, and get a ready offer to review instead of a blank editor. Setting up a promotion goes from a task you schedule to something you do between other things.
Sidekick handles the second. Instead of scrolling through reports and guessing which offer earned its spot, you ask. It tells you which offers bring in extra revenue, which ones have stalled, and which tier customers actually choose. And when you're ready for the next one, it suggests one your order history already supports.
Put the two together and every offer gets easier to launch and easier to learn from. That's the part discounts have been missing.

FAQ
Does the AI Offer Assistant publish offers automatically?
No. It pre-fills the offer, and nothing goes live until you review and save it.
How many offers can I create with AI per day?
You can use AI offer creation 5 times a day per store. The count resets at midnight UTC.
What's the difference between the AI Assistant and Sidekick?
The AI Assistant is Qikify's feature for building offers from a description. Sidekick is Shopify's assistant, and the Qikify extension lets it report on your offers and suggest new ones. Sidekick hands creation back to the assistant.
Which offer types can Sidekick recommend?
Wholesale, quantity break and Multibuy (mix and match). The AI Offer Assistant itself can build all five offer types in the app.
