Checkout work has an odd shape. You spend a week in a checkout customizer getting the fields, the upsell offers and the validation rules right. You watch the numbers for a few days, then stop opening the app, because nothing is broken. Months later somebody asks what the app is doing for the store, and the honest answer is that nobody has looked. The person approving the renewal has even less to go on than you do. Shopify's reports show total checkout revenue, not the share an app earned, and most checkout apps keep their figures behind their own dashboard.

Qikify Checkout Digest closes that gap. It pushes a recurring checkout report into whichever channel your team already reads, led by the revenue Qikify generated at the Shopify checkout, so nobody has to open the app to see it.

Key takeaways:

  • Checkout Digest sends a recurring checkout report to email, Slack or Discord, and every channel you pick carries the same figures in full.
  • The report leads with the revenue Qikify generated at checkout, which is the number the person approving the renewal asks about.
  • Pick daily, weekly or monthly. Daily measures against the same weekday a week earlier, never against the day before.
  • Three content groups cover upsell results, checkout health and extension usage. A group is all or nothing, and all three start off.
  • Checkout Digest needs Shopify Plus, and the checkout health group needs a Shopify analytics permission before it will turn on.

What Checkout Digest is

Checkout Digest is a recurring checkout performance summary from Qikify Checkout Customizer, available on Shopify Plus. A digest has three choices, and all three sit on one screen.

  • What it reports on: Three content groups: upsell and cross-sell results, checkout health, and extension performance.
  • How often it arrives: Daily, weekly, or monthly, at the time you pick, in your store's timezone
  • Where it lands: Slack, Discord, email, or any combination of the three. Every channel carries the full report. Slack, Discord, and email are rendered from the same set of figures, so they never disagree. A web version sits behind a link in the footer for anyone outside the channel.

Why send it to a channel instead of keeping it in the app

The person who set up Qikify is rarely the only person who needs its numbers. Checkout Digest is built for everyone else.

Sales and merchandising: Top product offers and Lowest performing offer land in the Slack channel where promotions get planned. No export request to the ops person, no waiting.

Finance and the renewal approver: Upsell revenue and its share of checkout revenue arrive in a monthly email they can file. No screenshot, no forwarded dashboard link, no login they will never use.

Agencies and multi-store groups: One digest per store, all pointed at one Discord server, one channel per client. The account manager sees every client's checkout in a single place without opening a single admin. When a client asks how the checkout is doing, the answer is already in the channel with a date on it.

The team that operates the app: They stop being the bottleneck. Nobody has to remember to look, and nobody has to be asked.

Slack and Discord matter here because the report arrives where the conversation already is. A falling offer acceptance rate posted in a shared channel gets discussed the same morning. The same figure in an inbox waits for someone to notice it.

Turn it on in five steps

Step 1: Checkout Digest lives under Settings, then Notifications, in Qikify Checkout Customizer.

Step 2: Switch the digest on and set the schedule: daily, weekly or monthly.

Step 3: Add destinations: email recipients, a Slack channel, a Discord webhook, or all three.

Step 4: Turn on the content groups you want. All three start off. Save.

Qikify writes out the next send in full, in the shape of Monday, Aug 31 at 9:00 AM (America/New_York). The save needs at least one content group and one destination. Everything else has a working default, including the timezone, which comes from your Shopify store settings.

What it reports

Pick from three content groups. A group is all or nothing, and the settings screen lists its metrics before you turn it on.

Group What it reports
Upsell and cross-sell Upsell revenue, Share of checkout revenue, AOV with offer vs without, Offer acceptance rate, Accepted offers and products, Top product offers, Lowest performing offer
Checkout health Checkout visitors, Completed checkouts, Abandoned checkouts
Extension performance Custom field engagement, Boost sales clicks

Top product offers shows the top 3 daily, top 5 weekly or top 10 monthly. Checkout health needs the View store analytics & reports permission, which Qikify asks for once when you turn the group on.

The report leads with Upsell revenue when upsell and cross-sell is on, and groups you left out are simply absent. Every digest closes with an offer from Hazel Nguyen, Checkout Optimization Expert at Qikify, of a 20 minute call to walk through the numbers.

Two limits to know before you start

Checkout Digest is a schedule, not an alarm. Nothing in this release watches a number on your behalf, and threshold alerts are not part of this version. And a store gets one digest, so one audience gets one report; you cannot send a short weekly summary to sales and a long monthly one to finance from the same store. Neither should stop you setting one up today.

5. The next time somebody asks

Six months from now, somebody will ask what Qikify is doing for the store. With a digest running, the answer is already in the channel: upsell revenue by week, the offers that carried it, and the ones that didn't. Nobody has to go and look, and the person approving the renewal has read the same numbers as the team that set them up.

That's the point of Checkout Digest. The app keeps working whether you open it or not. The report makes sure everyone knows.

FAQ

1. Do I need Shopify Plus for Checkout Digest?

Yes. The Qikify Checkout Customizer digest is a Shopify Plus feature.

2. Does Qikify need access to my Shopify analytics?

Only for the checkout health group. Upsell and cross-sell and extension performance both work without granting any Shopify scope.

3. Can two people get different reports from one store?

Not from one configuration, and a store gets one. It can reach up to 10 email recipients plus Slack and Discord at the same time.

4. Will Slack and email ever show different numbers?

No. Qikify builds one set of figures per digest, and Slack, Discord and email each render those same figures in their own layout.

5. What happens when a digest fails to send?

Qikify retries three times, marks that destination with a Delivery issue badge naming the cause, and emails the Shopify store owner.

6. Can I get an alert when a metric drops instead of a schedule?

Not in this release. Checkout Digest sends on a schedule, and threshold alerts are not included yet.
